MORGAN & KESHA Are Entering Parenthood!

It's A Girl Speech Cloud

After 20 years, we are FINALLY becoming parents!

After 20 years, we are FINALLY becoming parents!

Can you believe it!!

We know y’all probably thought this day would never come, and honestly, neither did we. Everything happened sooooo fast. We weren’t even actively looking to expand our family.

OUR STORY

Once upon a time, back in August 18, 2004, two young souls decided to tie the knot, blissfully unaware of the twists and turns that awaited them. With youth on their side, they didn't worry about starting a family right away. They felt that time was on their side. But as time danced on, they found themselves waltzing into their thirties, without the pitter-patter of tiny feet. Despite their patience and hopes, the stork seemed to be taking an extended vacation from their doorstep.

Undeterred, they held onto each other tightly, navigating the twists and turns of life's rollercoaster with grace and resilience. Then, FINALLY, after 20 years of uncertainty and longing, their hearts found a new rhythm. With open arms and overflowing love, they welcomed a precious bundle into their lives, completing their family in a way they never imagined possible.

And so, their story continues, filled with love, laughter, and the sweet symphony of parenthood. They have cherished every moment together and are excited to continue this beautiful journey into parenthood.

Remember, in the grand symphony of life, sometimes the most beautiful melodies are those we never expected to hear.

We are so grateful to our amazing village for your love and support as we navigate this adoption journey with Laurienna. Unlike many parents who have 9 months to prepare, we had less than 3 weeks before she was here! This has been an unexpected blessing, and while we are overjoyed, we are still working to cover the costs associated with her care and the adoption process.

If you are able, please consider contributing to help us provide for Laurienna’s continued journey into the world. Every bit of support—whether financial or simply sharing our story—makes a huge difference, and we are grateful for anything and everything you have to give.

We’ve also created an Amazon registry with carefully selected items that will help us care for her. If you prefer to purchase something from the registry or even other items, we just ask that you kindly avoid anything in “baby pink.” Thank you for being part of our story and for your generous heart!

Whitney Walker, Founder

This incredible journey was made possible by Whitney Walker, Founder of Love Thy Humans, a non-profit organization serving as the bridge for hope for mothers facing separation from their children due to incarceration. Founded on the principles of compassion and empowerment, she is a lifeline for these mothers to find reliable caregivers who will ensure their children are nutured and supported during their absence. She has plans to expand her organization to helping women who are released from prison, reconnect with their families, as well as support families in transition find the resources they need to take care of themselves. You can look forward to counseling, education, skill-building, rehabilitation, and additional resources to break the cycle of incarceration. To connect with Whitney and learn more about Love Thy Humans, reach out via Instagram.

We are also truly fortunate to receive invaluable support from Motherhood Beyond Bars, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a healthy start for infants born to incarcerated women. Serving as a vital liaison between these women and caregivers, Motherhood Beyond Bars ensures that these vulnerable infants receive the nurturing care and support they need during their crucial early years. Because the caregivers are not foster parents, they don't qualify for many of the services that traditional foster families receive. Motherhood Beyond Bars is the only organization in the state of Georgia providing critical resources, infant supplies, and ongoing support to these caregivers and infants. They offer many additional resources, including reentry and reunification programs. And they have partnered with researchers on a groundbreaking study to better understand the impacts of incarceration on infants and families. Motherhood Beyond Bars ultimate goal is to permanently end the cycle of incarceration and seperation in families. To learn more and donate, reach out via their website.
